A list can only tell you how many items are left. A tree tells you where you are, what comes next, and why it is that.
A canvas, not a checklist
Nodes have prerequisites: finish one to unlock the next. What you are learning and how far you got are visible at a glance — a list cannot do that.

No two trees look alike
Node shape, edge style, background and colour are all yours. So is the name of the tree's own resource: Kana for Japanese, Compute for full-stack, Stamina for fitness.

The community has trees already built. Take one and start. Change it if you like — your edits never touch the author's copy.

Not finishing is the design
All three resources are capped. Not to sell you anything — to make "what do I do today" a question worth thinking about again.
- Energy Caps at 25, +1 every 30 minutes
- Every completion costs some: 1 for a plain node, 2 for a core, 3 for a boss. It makes you pick today's one thing instead of growing the list.
- Gems 2 from a boss, 3–10 from a tree award
- The account currency. 10 refills your energy, and they buy trees other people built.
- Today's actions 8 by default, resets at midnight
- There is a cap on how much you can advance in a day. Undo does not give one back — otherwise "complete, undo, repeat" would be free score.

How is this different from a to-do list?
A list is flat; a skill tree has structure. Nodes have prerequisites, so you can see "this has to come before that" and where along the path you are. Completions also cost energy, so it will not encourage you to tick twenty boxes in a day.
Do I have to build a tree from scratch?
No. Japanese, full-stack and fitness are built in, and the market has trees other people made. Take one and start. Edit it whenever you like — you are editing your own copy.
What if I run out of energy?
Wait for it to come back (1 point every 30 minutes), or refill for 10 gems. This is deliberate: attention really is finite.
Can I sell the trees I make?
You can publish to the market, free or priced in gems. What buyers edit is their own copy; your original is unaffected.
